The In-Service Training Exam is an online, unproctored self-assessment exam for Fellows-in-Training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology who are just completing the first year of their 2-year program.

The assessment exam consists of questions developed by over 36 international experts in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. The exam covers the essential EP competency areas for CCEP Fellows-In-Training as outlined in the ABIM certification exam blueprint. The exam is intended to benchmark individual progress following year one of training. Individual scores can only be seen by the examinee and their program director/coordinator. Programs will be able to compare their scores to the national average.

Program directors and coordinators of ACGME accredited CCEP training programs in the U.S. may purchase the In-Service Training Exam before May 30 for their rising second-year fellows. The cost is $150 per fellow. Payment by credit card is strongly encouraged. An HRS account is required of those purchasing the exam as well as fellows who are taking the exam. The window to take the exam is Thursday, May 30 - Sunday, June 30 at midnight CT. This is a hard deadline. There are no exceptions. Program directors and coordinators are encouraged to set aside dedicated time for trainees to complete the exam.

Examinees may take the exam at their own pace. If they exit and enter the exam at a later time, their work will be saved. There will be an opportunity to review all exam answers before submitting for a score. Questions can be skipped and returned to at a later time. When the score is generated, it will be seen compared to a national average, which is recalculated as trainees complete the exam. The final national average will not be shown until the exam window closes.

The exam is an assessment tool. No answers or answer explanations will be shared. Scores are broken down by topic area so the trainee and program director can identify opportunities for growth.
