Heart Rhythm VR Course Highlights

Heart Rhythm VR 1.0 includes three key procedures in electrophysiology -  S-ICD Implantation, AF Ablation, and Transcatheter Pacemaker. Each procedure includes a patient preparation and the core procedure. Each procedure also includes a training mode, an assessment mode, and the ability for users to experience a multi-participant immersive learning environment.

The Heart Rhythm Virtual Reality S-ICD Implantation Skills Simulator - AVAILABLE NOW!

The Heart Rhythm Virtual Reality S-ICD Implantation Skills Simulator will guide the learner through the entire S-ICD procedure, including a patient preparation segment where learners will follow the steps for creating a sterile environment and marking the patient, then moving to the actual procedure which includes making the incision, inserting electrodes, and even closing and dressing the incisions after the procedure. This virtual training experience provides a realistic simulation of the clinical scenario and increases overall retention by teaching through active participation in a safe, virtual environment.

Skills covered:

  • Identification of appropriate landmarks
  • Surgically creating lateral and medial subcutaneous pockets
  • Tunneling a subcutaneous lead in the appropriate orientation
  • Securing the lead and attaching it to the S-ICD device
  • Inserting the device in the pocket and closing the surgical field

In addition to your instructions for redemption and download, you will also receive an email that will include next steps to access and install your VR content and begin your one-year subscription. This training program requires the use of an Android-based virtual reality device such as an Oculus Quest 2 or other.

MedVR’s mission is to develop and build a well-trained, strong, and confident healthcare workforce that is ready to face real-world challenges, partnering with HRS is a significant step towards achieving this goal.
