Features

  • Assess your knowledge with 100 questions that assess your knowledge of the essential EP curriculum
  • Compare your score with those of your peers
  • Identify areas of strength and weakness with scores broken out by content area
  • Review your answers and get feedback and references for further study
  • Complete questions at your own pace — no time limit
  • Skip questions and return to them later; review all answers before submitting for a score
  • Log in and out of the system as needed — your previous work will be saved
  • Opt to collect CME/MOC by scoring 80% or better
Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the current guidelines related to evaluation and management of patients with cardiac rhythm disturbances
  • Describe the role of electrophysiologic testing in managing patients with bradyarrhythmias and tachyarrhythmias
  • Identify the advantages and limitations of diagnostic electrophysiologic methods
  • Identify the role of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies for the treatment of arrhythmias
  • Recognize the basic electrophysiology and genetics of inherited conditions associated with cardiac arrhythmias
  • Recognize clinical, electrocardiographic, and electrophysiologic characteristics of specific cardiac arrhythmia syndromes
  • Interpret complex electrophysiologic and electrocardiographic tracings
  • Interpret stored electrograms from pacemakers and ICDs

CME/MOC Information

ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
The Heart Rhythm Society is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA CREDIT DESIGNATION STATEMENT
The Heart Rhythm Society designates this enduring material for a maximum of 6.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The AMA has determined that physicians not licensed in the United States who participate in this CME activity are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

ABIM MAINTENANCE OF CERTIFICATION (MOC)
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 6.75 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

                                                                                   CME/MOC badge

ABP MAINTENANCE OF CERTIFICATION (MOC)
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity and individual assessment of and feedback to the learner, enables the learner to earn up to 6.75 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program

Disclosure of Faculty’s Commercial Relationship(s)

It is the policy of the Heart Rhythm Society to ensure balance, independent objectivity, and scientific rigor in all its certified educational activities. The Heart Rhythm Society adheres to the Standards for Commercial Support (SCS) of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) which requires that those individuals in a position to control the content of an educational activity (including planners, faculty, authors, committee members, content reviewers, editors, and staff) disclose all relevant* financial relationships (for self and for spouse/partner) with an ACCME-defined commercial interest** within the 12 months prior to the disclosure.

Any individual who refuses to disclose financial relationships will be disqualified from participating in HRS educational activities. Employees of ACCME-defined commercial interests can have no role in the planning or implementation of CME activities related to their products or services without a special exception from the HRS Senior Vice President for Education that will be granted only in specific circumstances that meet ACCME requirements.

Relevant Financial Relationship

*Relevant financial relationships are financial relationships in any amount, which occurred in the twelve-month period preceding the time that the individual was asked to assume a role controlling content of the CME activity, and which relate to the content of the educational activity, causing a conflict of interest. The ACCME considers financial relationships to create conflicts of interest in CME when individuals have both a financial relationship with a commercial interest and the opportunity to affect the content of CME about the products or services of that commercial interest.

**a commercial interest is any entity producing, marketing, re-selling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients. The ACCME does not consider providers of clinical service directly to patients to be commercial interests - unless the provider of clinical service is owned, or controlled by, an ACCME-defined commercial interest.

COI Resolution

For all accredited education activities, disclosures are reviewed for potential conflict of interest (COI) and conflicts resolved prior to the activity.  If conflicts are identified, the conflict may be resolved by one of the following COI resolution mechanisms:

  • Replace the presenter
  • Assign different content to presenter to avoid conflict of interest
  • Limit the presentation to report without recommendations
  • Utilize peer review of content prior to the program
  • Require the faculty member to limit sources of recommendations to evidence-based research
