So welcome everybody. For those of you who may not know me, I'm Mitch Cohen. I'm the chair of the Core Concepts Board Review Committee within Heart Rhythm Society. I've been on the committee for three years, but this is my first year at the helm and I have the good fortune of working with some incredibly talented people on the committee. So for those of you who are taking the board review course, we have renamed it. It used to be the Core Concepts in EP and now it's the HRS Board Review Course. And I think the reason we did it is we really wanted to reflect that this was an indispensable tool for electrophysiologists in training, those that are getting certification, those that are going to get recertification, as well as for fellowship directors. First of all, none of this would really be even possible without the talented work and the unenduring support of John Miller, who's really done an amazing job with the board review. So I want to thank John first and foremost, as well as Dr. Ellenbogen and everybody else who's been on the board review course. The committee members have really conducted a thorough review of all the sessions within the course. There's going to be some updates to the course. There's going to be a number of additional questions to the self-assessment, which was the feedback that we really got that people really wanted to have more questions. And there'll be some brand new sessions, including those of left atrial appendage occlusion, arrhythmias in patients with congenital heart disease, and then really foolers or tricks in EP, if you will, things that might kind of get you in the lab. And so there's a little bit of thinking about that. And then there's some updated information on basic EP principles for the clinician, EKG and EP correlation workshops, mechanisms, both pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, and the treatment of atrial fibrillation, biophysics of catheter ablation, kind of what's new, and then implantable devices both evaluation, management, and troubleshooting, and then a lot more stuff on conduction system pacing, both in theory and practice. So the sort of basics and the tenets from before will be there, but we have some new features and a lot more questions that I think will hopefully stimulate ongoing discussion, but really provide a solid board review course for those that are interested. So welcome to the 2025 HRS board review course. www.hrs.gov
