During this session, the role of atrial myopathy that underlie the atrial fibrillation substrate will be discussed as well as the implication for catheter ablation.

Recognize the histological and metabolic findings that underlie the atrial fibrillation substrate.
Summarize atrial functional changes associated with atrial myopathy and atrial fibrillation.
Describe the role of epicardial adiposity and voltage abnormalities in AF ablation outcomes.
