Inflammation, Cardiomyopathy, and Arrhythmias
Description
The session will focus on presenting the main inflammatory cardiomyopathies subtypes (Myocarditis; Sarcoidosis; DSP-Cardiomyopathy) and the arrhythmic risk, the risk stratifying strategies, and the currently therapies available (pharmacological and invasive) for each one of these substrates.
Learning Objectives
  • Outline the importance of cardiac inflammation as a cause of cardiac arrhythmias across a wide spectrum of inherited and acquired cardiac conditions.
  • Review the differences in arrhythmic risk stratification and ICD implantation practices required for common subgroups of inflammatory cardiomyopathies.
  • Summarize data on VT ablation and cutting edge therapies modulating the arrhythmic risk for inflammatory cardiomyopathy.
