Description
In this oral abstract session, presenters will discuss new insights into potential Long QT syndrome therapy, genetics of idiopathic
VF, Long QT syndrome Type 2 in the young, out of hospital pediatric cardiac arrest outcomes, and association of short QT interval and all cause mortality.
Learning Objectives
- Review new genetic insights into idiopathic VF.
- Describe new insights into Long QT syndrome in the young and potential treatments.
- Summarize new insights into the evaluation of pediatric cardiac arrest and all-cause mortality.

Education Framework
Diagnostic Testing
-- Monitoring and Other Noninvasive Diagnostic Testing
-- 24. Know the indications for exercise stress testing, with or without imaging, in the evaluation and risk stratification of patients with cardiac arrhythmias including ventricular pre-excitation, long QT syndrome (LQTS), catecholaminergic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, or who are taking class 1C antiarrhythmic medications.
Other Arrhythmia Syndromes
-- Inherited Arrhythmia Syndromes and Genetic Testing
-- 242. Know the genetic basis of arrhythmias, including genetically based ion channel abnormalities, J-wave syndromes, and inherited cardiomyopathies.
