The Lead Episode 31: Efficacy and Safety of Hybrid Epicardial and Endocardial Ablation versus Endocardial Ablation in Patients with Persistent and Longstanding Persistent Atrial Fibrillation
Description
William H. Sauer, MD, FHRS, CCDS, of Brigham and Women's Hospital is joined by guests Thomas Tadros, MD, a
nd
Ashraf Sabe, MD, of
Brigham and Women's Hospital,
to discuss efficacy and safety of hybrid epicardial and endocardial ablation versus endocardial ablation in patients with persistent and longstanding persistent atrial fibrillation. In this randomized trial, hybrid surgical and catheter ablation was more effective than catheter ablation alone in persistent atrial fibrillation without significant procedural risk increase.
Learning Objectives
To discuss the findings of "Efficacy and safety of hybrid epicardial and endocardial ablation versus endocardial ablation in patients with persistent and longstanding persistent atrial fibrillation: a randomised, controlled trial."
