This session will review our current understanding of AF substrate. Its mechanistic link to AF and its application in AF ablation will be reviewed.

Summarize the role of cardiac imaging in assessing atrial function and metabolism.
Review the role of epicardial adiposity in atrial electrophysiological abnormality.
Appreciate the role of atrial oxygen extraction and metabolic changes in atrial fibrillation.
