This podcast will explore the unmet needs in SVT management, highlighting the burden of recurrent episodes on patients and healthcare systems. Expert faculty will discuss current outpatient treatment strategies, guideline recommendations, and the challenges that continue to drive emergency department visits, while identifying opportunities to improve care, address treatment gaps, and enhance patient outcomes.

  1. Identify the unmet clinical needs in supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) management, including the impact of recurrent symptomatic episodes, emergency department visits, healthcare costs, and barriers to accessing catheter ablation.
  2. Compare available treatment strategies for symptomatic SVT, including catheter ablation, daily pharmacologic therapy, as-needed oral medications, and intranasal calcium channel blockers, with consideration of their effectiveness, convenience, and suitability for different patient populations.
  3. Evaluate the role of patient-directed, on-demand therapy in SVT management, including its potential to terminate acute episodes outside the hospital, reduce emergency department utilization, and support individualized treatment decisions.
