Developed by IBHRE, an independent certification board and global leader in heart rhythm management credentialing, the Cardiac Device Education and Self-Assessment (CDESA) Course includes eight information-packed sections consisting of more than 30 chapters based on the 2022 Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) Exam Blueprint found in IBHRE’s Certification Candidate Handbook, along with case studies and knowledge checks, and a 50-question Post Assessment at the end of the course.
This course is designed for practitioners who specialize in the field of heart rhythm management, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, technicians, device representatives, clinical specialists, students, residents, and fellows, and anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding of CIED therapy.

Although this online course is based upon the CCDS Exam Blueprint, it is not all inclusive of the knowledge areas and skills assessed for certification. Consequently, completing this course is not required for IBHRE certification, and doing so does not guarantee successful completion of the CCDS exam.
The Cardiac Device Education and Self-Assessment Course is created for the purpose of educating heart management practitioners on cardiac device therapy and related topics. Although it serves as a resource for preparing for the Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) examination, this online course does not cover all topics included in the CCDS Exam Blueprint. IBHRE recommends that users contact the device manufacturer(s) for more details on their specific device characteristics, functionality and algorithms. In addition, completing this course does not guarantee successful completion of the CCDS certification exam.
Upon completion of this course, you may download a certificate of completion. However, IBHRE does not offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or Accredited Medical Education (ACE) credits for this course.
